Sales of Valve Software’s Portal 2 have reached the 4 million mark, the company revealed today.
The sales figures were revealed by Valve’s level designer David Sawyer in an interview with NeoGamr. Total sales for the franchise have hit 8 million units, and this figure doesn’t include the Steam sales of the first Portal game.
The original Portal was released in 2007, followed up by last year’s excellent Portal 2.
Valve today announced that Perpetual Testing Initiative, a free DLC for Portal 2, is now available for PC and Mac. This DLC comes with a simplified puzzle maker that allows that creation of mind-bending puzzles without ever leaving the game.
The puzzle maker can directly publish maps to the Steam Workshop where users can browse, vote on, and select to play them. Selected puzzles will automatically be downloaded and installed inside Portal 2.
